About TCA
TCA was founded eight years ago with four teams in Fountain Valley, California. Director Neil Mason wanted to create a place where the fundamentals and skills of the game could be taught in a manner that incorporated the mental aspect of the game, along with the physical components. But more important than that, he wanted to incorporate life skills that would allow players an avenue to excel in college, but even more so would empower young women to succeed long after their college playing days were over.
Considering there are thirty million youth who play sports and that seventy five percent of them quit by the age of thirteen, Coach Mason believed a change needed to be made in volleyball instruction. Neil is a believer that things don’t change unless people get involved to become catalysts for change. If we are dissatisfied about something and don’t act on it, we will only remain unhappy or even become more upset. Thus the concept and vision for TCA evolved.
In TCA’s young life, it has catapulted to one of the nation’s elite programs. TCA has amassed Three Open National Championship Titles (2004, 2006, and 2008) as well as several Club Championship Titles and Qualifiers at all ages. TCA’s success at the junior levels has made the club a hot bed for college recruiting. More and more girls each year are being recruited from TCA to compete at top ranked colleges across the country.

Steve Mills, Director of TCA Virginia

“I am extremely excited about being able to partner with TCA and to bring such a respected and proven club to our area. At TCA Virginia, our goal will be to never be out-worked, out-trained, or out-prepared by anybody. Equally, I appreciate the way TCA supports and develops its athletes not only on the volleyball court, but also in other areas of life.”
Steve and his family moved from Virginia Beach to Forest, VA three years ago, where he took over as head varsity volleyball coach at Jefferson Forest High School. Prior to that, he coached both boys and girls volleyball at Ocean Lakes High School in Va. Beach. This past travel season Steve coached a 16’s team for the Heart of Virginia volleyball club.
